Church of the Present

I hear people talk about how the youth are the church of the future. I disagree, I believe they are the church of the present. We need to not only be training them to be leaders some day but also give them opportunites to serve and lead in the church right now! I see God in each one of my students and know He has incredible plans for them. It is my unique priviledge to help guide them and see their full potential lived out in the church and in their lives!

Ministry Experience

Five years as a Youth Pastor for junior and senior high students.
A leader of two mission trips to Red Lake Reservation and one to Trinidad.
Part of mission teams to Namibia, India, Trinidad, Canada, Mexico and all over the US.
Two years full-time missionary service with CTI Music Ministries.
Over 25 years experience playing on worship teams and five years as a youth worship team leader.
Toured and recorded with a regional worship band.
One summer as a Bible Camp Counselor.
Recovery Coach at a Christian residential treatment center for teens.
Experience with other pastoral duties including preaching, leading small groups, pastoral care, leading communion, congregational prayer, and baptisms.
Officiant at weddings and assistant at a funeral.

Rockbridge Seminary. Masters of Divinity

2016

I recently finished my Master's of Divinity program through Rockbridge Seminary. My plan is to continue to be a youth pastor now that I've obtained my degree. I do not see being a youth pastor as a stepping stone to greater work, but as the place where God has called me to serve. I love working with young people!

2005

Received my undergraduate degree in broad-based city planning. This degree allows me to approach youth ministry with a unique perspective and see how where students live affects all aspects of their lives.
